Provenance
Authenticated lineage from regional craft centers.
Est. 2026 / Tokyo, Japan
Curating extraordinary Japanese craftsmanship for the modern world. Every piece tells a story of lineage, earth, and time.
Our Philosophy
Kogei Atlas is more than a gallery; it is a repository of living culture. We bridge traditional Japanese craft and global contemporary living, selecting only works that embody the craftsman's spirit.
Authenticated lineage from regional craft centers.
Sourced responsibly from Japanese landscapes.
Techniques preserved across generations.
Insured archival shipping for international collectors.
Hand-selected works from the current harvest, dye vats, and kiln firings.
The hand knows what the eye cannot yet see. The craft is a conversation between generations.
Masao Yamamoto, Master Ceramicist
Every artisan in the Atlas ecosystem is visited personally. We document their process, their tools, and the specific clay, wood, steel, or fiber that defines their region. Transparency is our mandate; provenance is our gift.

Kogei Atlas records the maker, region, material, condition, and handling notes for each selected work so international collectors can understand what they are acquiring.
Each listing includes the workshop or maker lineage, craft category, and regional context.
We identify key materials, finishes, care limits, and signs of handmade variation.
Before shipment, works are photographed and checked for surface, structure, and packaging needs.
Private acquisition requests can include a digital record with care guidance and source references.
Shipping & Returns
Orders are packed according to material: reinforced cartons for glass and ceramics, dry-protection wraps for bamboo and metal, and shock-resistant inner cushioning for heavy ironware.
Shipping quotes are confirmed before payment. Import duties, customs fees, and local taxes are the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise stated in writing.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for eligible unused works. Custom requests, made-to-order pieces, and items damaged by improper handling are not eligible. Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours with packaging photos.
Privacy Policy
We collect only the information needed to respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, process orders, arrange shipping, and provide aftercare.
Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only with essential service partners such as payment processors, carriers, customs brokers, and professional advisors.
Collectors may request correction or deletion of stored inquiry information unless we must retain it for order records, compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business documentation.
Terms of Service
Product availability, prices, currency conversion, and shipping estimates may change until an acquisition is confirmed in writing.
Natural variation is part of handmade craft. Minor differences in color, texture, patina, glaze, cut line, or bamboo grain are not considered defects.
Site content, photography, journal text, and curation language belong to Kogei Atlas or its licensors and may not be reused commercially without permission.
Press Inquiries
We welcome inquiries from editors, stylists, cultural institutions, and brand partners interested in Japanese craft, artisan profiles, or object-focused storytelling.
Press requests should include publication name, deadline, intended use, image requirements, and whether maker interviews or product loans are being requested.
Image usage and product loans are approved case by case, with credit lines and return logistics confirmed before release.
